Elkhart County now boasts fourth lowest jobless rate in Indiana

The jobless rate dropped in March for St. Joseph and Elkhart counties, according to a new report released Wednesday, April 22.

St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate dropped from 6.6 percent to 6.2 percent from February.

In Elkhart County, it’s down from 4.8 percent to 4.5 percent.

The unemployment rate is now lower in Elkhart County than Kosciusko County, which for a long time had the lowest rate in 95.3 MNC’s listening area.

In fact, Elkhart County’s jobless rate is ranked fourth lowest in the state of Indiana.
