Nobody was injured when windows of two school buses were shot out in Dowagiac, Mich., on Thursday afternoon, April 16.

A school bus driver reported to the Dowagiac Police Department at 2:25 p.m. that she was driving the bus on East Prairie Ronde Street near Mcomber Street when she heard a “pop” that sounded like a pellet gun, according to a news release from the police department.

A window on the driver’s side of the bus near the front shattered. One student was on the bus but nobody was injured.

The bus driver told police she saw two male teens and a female teen running away from the area right after the window was shot out, according to the news release.

While officers were searching the area, they received a report that a second school bus was shot at in the same area at about the same time as the first school bus. A window in the middle of the second bus on the passenger side had a hole in it from a BB or pellet gun, according to the news release.

The bus driver and eight students on board were not injured, according to the news release. The driver didn’t see any possible suspects.
