Red flag warning issues for northern Indiana counties due to high wind, low humidity

Strong winds and low humidity will make for dangerous conditions, especially in the case of a fire, through Wednesday evening.

The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for several counties in northern Indiana, including St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall and Kosciusko Counties, in effect until 8 p.m.

A red flag warning means that any fires that develop could spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, relative humidity between 20 and 25 percent and warm temperatures through Wednesday afternoon and into the evening.
