Blood donations needed at Medical Foundation as supply decreases

The South Bend Medical Foundation is experiencing a blood shortage and is asking Michiana community members to donate if they can.

The Medical Foundation is down to less than a one day supply of some types of blood, Mary Ankrapp of the foundation said on Michiana’s Morning News with Mark McGill on Thursday morning, April 9.

To encourage more people to donate, the foundation is giving away a 2015 Nissan to one lucky person who donates blood in April.

Anyone interested in donating blood can schedule an appointment at one of the Medical Foundation locations or visit a public blood drive. Find out more by visiting the foundation’s website.
