TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) — A northern Michigan man faces child abuse and other charges after police say his 7-year-old son and a 9-year-old girl ate gummy candy believed to contain marijuana at his home.

The Grand Rapids Press reports that 24-year-old Michael Taylor was arrested Friday and charged with fourth-degree child abuse, lying to a peace officer and marijuana possession.

Police say the children vomited and experienced hallucinations last month after playing together at the house. They later tested positive at hospitals for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.

Police searched Taylor’s home but did not find any gummy candy.

Defense attorney James Hunt told The Associated Press that he was reviewing the police report and had no comment.

Taylor was arraigned Friday and released on bond.
