South Bend girl killed in semi truck rollover near Chicago

A 12-year-old South Bend girl was killed in crash in the northwest suburbs of Chicago early Monday morning.

Dahabrielle Turner was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to CBS Chicago.

Turner was a passenger in a semi truck driven by a male relative. The semi was heading west on U.S. 20 near Pingree Grove, Ill., when the truck left the roadway and rolled over, CBS Chicago reported.

The driver was treated at a hospital with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved, CBS Chicago reported, but a guardrail and utility poles were damaged.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
