House fire reported at Taylor Street and LaSalle Avenue near downtown South Bend

SOUTH BEND — Crews are on scene of a house fire at Taylor Street and LaSalle Avenue near downtown South Bend.

The South Bend Fire Department was called to the home before 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9.

Flames and smoke could be seen at the top of the house at about 9 a.m.

A person was sleeping on the couch when the fire started, but made it out of the house safely, Chief Kevin Kolber with the South Bend Fire Department told ABC 57. Nobody was injured.
