Leaf pick-up set for South Bend, Mishawaka residents

South Bend residents who are cleaning up their yards can request for their leaves to be picked up through this Friday, April 17.

Residents living within city limits can make the request by calling 311 from 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to a news release from the city of South Bend.

Leaves must be raked into piles at the curb and must be separated from yard waste. Yard waste must be placed in paper bags or reusable bins and is picked up on the same day as trash collection.

Mishawaka residents will have their leaves picked up for one week from Monday, April 20, to Friday, April 24, according to a news release from the city of Mishawaka.

City residents should rake leaves to the edge of the curb in piles that are free of other items, like branches and stones. Leaves will be picked up the day before residents’ regular trash pick-up day.

Leaves can always be bagged and put out with weekly trash pick-up in Mishawaka, according to the news release. Brush can be taken to the Mishawaka Recycling Center, 1105 E. Fifth St,, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
