UNION MILLS, Ind. (AP) — Northern Indiana authorities say road rage might have contributed to a fatal crash.
The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department says the crash Sunday night on a rural road near the town of Union Mills killed 38-year-old Michael Edwards of LaPorte.
It says a possible road rage incident began near Valparaiso and continued eastward for several miles into LaPorte County. Deputies say Edwards’ car was trying to pass a car driven by 21-year-old Bryan Baker of Hobart when the vehicles collided. Edwards’ car struck a utility pole and Baker’s went into a farm field.
Deputies say Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene, and Baker was released after treatment at a hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
