A guilty plea has been entered from one of the eight men charged in connection with the stray bullet shooting death of 2 year-old John Swoveland Jr. in April, 2014.

Xavier Primm pleaded guilty Monday to assisting a criminal for his role in the death of the toddler.

Primm fled the area after the shooting, last April. He turned himself into police in Decatur, Illinois about a month later.

Swoveland was shot while playing in front of a relative’s home on Campeau Street while a gang fight was underway, several blocks away.

The shooter, Robert Griffin, was found guilty of murder and attempted murder earlier this year.
