Pizza Wars: First round of voting ends with some upsets in St. Joseph County

The first round of voting for Pizza Wars is over — and there are already some upsets.

In St. Joseph County, Barnaby’s Pizza received 61 percent of the votes to defeat Bruno’s Pizza. Both restaurants have several locations throughout the area.

Barnaby’s will next face Rocco’s Restaurant in South Bend, which received 53 percent of votes to get the win over Luigi’s Pizza in Mishawaka.

Gianetto’s in Granger defeated south side of South Bend favorite Starlite Pizza and Restaurant after receiving 51 percent of the votes.

Gianetto’s will go up against Tony Sacco’s in Granger, which gained slightly more than 50 percent of the vote to overcome Lacopo’s Pizzeria.

The next round of voting begins Thursday, May 28, and will go until Sunday, May 31.
