Sand sculpture contest at Indiana Dunes State Park planned for July 11

CHESTERTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana Dunes State Park is preparing for its 18th annual sand sculpture contest.

This year’s event will be Saturday, July 11 and teams can start as early as 7 a.m. Indiana state park social media fans voted on this year’s theme, “All Washed Up.” Sculptures that follow the theme get extra points.

Prizes will be awarded in in two categories, one for teams of children 15-years-old and younger and for individuals and families fewer than eight participants.
