FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP) — Police says a central Indiana woman was doused with gasoline and set on fire shortly before a truck seen leaving the scene was involved in a fatal, wrong-way crash.

The Franklin woman was taken to an Indianapolis hospital Friday after police in the city about 20 miles south of Indianapolis responded to a report of a person on fire.

Lt. Kerry Atwood of the Franklin Police Department said the extent of the woman’s injuries weren’t immediately known Friday afternoon.

The Indianapolis Star reports police say a pickup truck that was involved in a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 65 south of Indianapolis Friday afternoon was seen leaving the scene where the woman was burned.

The truck’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Johnson County coroner’s office.
