Pet of the Week: Trixie is a terrier mix with a lot of energy, love and loyalty

Looking for a new furry four-legged friend? The Humane Society of St. Joseph County has several dogs, cats, birds and other animals looking for a forever home.

This week’s 95.3 MNC Pet of the Week is Trixie, a spayed 3-year-old terrier mix. Here’s more about her:

Winters here are long and cold, but if you take me home with you, I will shine my light on you and smile your blues away! That’s how sweet I am! Pure, pure sugar. Take me out to play and I may just melt your heart. I am loyal, loving, intelligent, and, best of all, I am not afraid of commitment. I will love you just as you are and I hope you will do the same for me, because I am looking for a best friend to have and to keep FOREVER! Just look at my smile, look at my tail! I will shower you with all my lovin’ every day!

Oh, I have a little secret to whisper in your ear: my old family said I kept on finding ways to get out of their yard and that I was a great dog. Did you hear that? A GREAT dog. Not average. GREAT! And the yard thing…well, we both know that’s an easy fix! You can hang out in the yard with me, make it more secure, or best of all, take me on long walks through sun and snow. Hey, I will even make sure you get your exercise and be as healthy and happy as can be!

  • Noon to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday
  • Noon to 4 p.m. Sundays (May through September)

Adoptable cats and dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped and current on appropriate vaccinations and tests. Not all pocket pets are spayed, neutered, microchipped or vaccinated.
