Body of missing Illinois woman found in Lake Michigan

PORTER, Ind. (AP) — Indiana state officials say they have recovered the body of a 20-year-old Illinois woman who disappeared while swimming in Lake Michigan.

The Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana reports that the body of Chase Froese of Carol Stream, about 30 miles west of Chicago, was found Sunday.

She had gone missing since Friday evening after swimming with two friends at Porter Beach. Nearby beachgoers rescued the other two swimmers, who were also from Illinois.

Froese was a student at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and a 2013 graduate of Wheaton Academy, a private Christian high school in West Chicago.
