Male shot, female tied up during robbery inside Elkhart home

Elkhart Police are looking for three people suspected of shooting one person and tying up another during a home robbery.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, in the 600 block of Hiawatha Drive.

The female victim returned home and as she entered, three suspects armed with handguns approached her and tried to force their way into the residence. When the male victim came to the door he was shot one time in the neck.

The suspects then tied the female victim up and ransacked the home.

The suspects removed property from the residence and fled the area.

The male victim was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment. The female victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspects were described as three males wearing black clothing with their faces covered.
