Pete Buttigieg, Kelly Jones to face off in mayoral debate at IU South Bend

The two South Bend mayoral candidates will take part in a live debate in October, a month before the 2015 election.

Democrat incumbent Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Republican Kelly Jones will be featured in the debate from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Weikamp Hall Auditorium, Room 1001 on the IU South Bend campus, according to 95.3 MNC’s news partners ABC 57.

Dr. Elizabeth Bennion, a political science professor at IUSB and campus director of the American Democracy Project, will moderate the debate.

Questions for the candidates can be emailed to American Democracy Project intern Rachel Santos rjsantos@umail.iu.edu with the subject “South Bend Mayoral Question.” Questions will also be accepted on notecards during the debate.
