NOTRE DAME VERSUS USC RIVALRY INSPIRES SPECIAL MEAL AT ANTONIO’S

Paul Cataldo wants to do something special for the Notre Dame versus University of Southern California game. 

Two days before the game, on Oct. 15, owner Paul Cataldo will serve a special meal using Irish whiskey paired with California wines, according to 95.3 MNC’s partners at Flavor 574.

An Irish fan, Cataldo is putting wine and spirits together for the first time. The menu is likely to change but for now, includes a cheese board with figs and salad, pasta, a meat entree and dessert.

JOURNEYMAN DISTILLERY EXPANDING WITH STAYMAKER RESTAURANT

Next month, Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, Mich., is set to open a new restaurant. 

The full-service restaurant, Staymaker, will be attached to the distillery and will have new food offerings, a renovated event space upstairs and a tasting room, Flavor 574 reports

Though there is no specific date set yet, the distillery announced it would open in October.

GEORGE PESEK IS CLOSING CULVER LOCATIONS 

George and Tammy Pesek are closing the places that started their northern Indiana food businesses. 

Corndance Cafe and the public portion of Evil Czech Brewery, both in Culver, will close Sept. 26 and 27, respectively, Flavor 574 reports.

The closings will let Pesek focus on their businesses in Mishawaka. 

“Nuts,” he told Flavor 574. “Bittersweet to have huge success up north prompt me to close down south.”
