Benton Harbor Police begin focused effort on search for suspects behind string of robberies

Police in Benton Harbor are looking for suspects believed to be involved with three personal robberies they believe are connected.

Officers from the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety, along with the Michigan State Police Major Crimes Investigation Unit are working with State Police from the Niles post to identify the suspects and stop the string of robberies.

On Oct. 7, the unit launched “Operation Sunshine” according to the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.

The focus of this operation is to ensure the safety of individuals who use walking or bicycling as their primary means of transportation around the city.

Anyone with information about the robberies or suspects involved is asked to police at 269-927-8435.
