Tommie Lee joins Michiana's Morning News as morning and midday news anchor

A new yet familiar voice is now delivering your top stories from the morning news desk on Michiana’s Morning News.

Longtime Michiana radio personality Tommie Lee began his new duties on 95.3 MNC on Monday, Oct. 26. He took over for former news anchor Gordy Young, who is relocating to Wisconsin to be close to his family and begin a new job.

Tommie’s radio career has spanned 27 years and five states, including much of the last two decades in Southwest Michigan and the South Bend/Elkhart area. This isn’t his first time on 95.3 either — he was half of the Tommie and the Bartender show on WAOR 95.3.

Most recently, Tommie hosted Truth Radio Early Edition on 95.3 MNC’s sister station Truth Radio 1340. During that time, he was also heard delivering news reports on MNC.

Tommie is married with two college-aged children and spends much of his free time writing novels, the first of which was published in 2010.

You can hear Tommie’s newscasts every fifteen minutes starting at the top of each hour from 5 to 9 a.m. weekdays during Michiana’s Morning News with Mark McGill. He will also anchor news during The Glenn Beck Program (from 9 a.m. to noon) and The Rush Limbaugh Show (from noon to 3 p.m.).

Jon Zimney is the news and programming director for News/Talk 95.3 Michiana’s News Channel.
