One person seriously injured in overnight crash in Niles Township

One person was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in Niles Township.

The collision happened around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, at South 11th and Bell Road, according to WNDU.

Two cars and a truck were involved, WSBT reported.

The crash occurred when a Pontiac Grand Prix attempting to cross South 11th St. just south of the Bell Rd. intersection was struck by a large box truck that was heading south on S. 11th St, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.

The Pontiac came to rest in the roadway and was then struck by a Volkswagen traveling north on S. 11th St.

The passenger in the Pontiac, a 33-year-old woman from the Niles area, suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She is in intensive care with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
