South Bend Police asking for tips from the public regarding last week's shootings, stabbing incidents

South Bend Police have released updated information regarding the non-fatal shooting and stabbing incidents that happened during the Christmas holiday, starting on Wednesday, Dec. 23. They are asking for the public’s assistance in helping solve the cases:

12/23/2015 at 10:45 p.m.: South Bend Police officers were sent to a shooting in the area of 100 S. Illinois St. When the officers arrived they located a 17-year-old boy who was shot several times. He was taken to the hospital by South Bend Fire Department medics and treated. The victim was last listed in stable condition. At this time the only suspect description police have is that of a tall male with a dark colored ski mask.

12/24/2015 at 3:05 a.m.: South Bend Police officers were sent to 2400 Arrowhead Dr. on the report of a shooting. Officers located the 30-year-old man in the 2600 block of N. Bow Ct. with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries and released a few days later. Police are looking three suspects they descibe as male blacks and a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee in connection with the shooting.

12/25/2015 at 5:04 a.m.: South Bend Police officers were sent to 1000 W. Bryan St. regarding a shooting. When the officers arrived they located the 41-year-old man lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and treated for his wounds and was last listed in stable condition. At this time police say they are speaking with the victim and witnesses and trying to locate a person of interest, but they have not released that person’s identity.

12/26/2015 at 2:22 p.m.: South Bend Police officers were sent to 400 N. Allen St. on the report of a shooting. As the officers arrived they located a 40-year-old man in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was taken to the hospital and was last listed in stable condition. Police have named Scottie Hall, 32, as a person-of-interest in the case. Hall is currently in custody for an outstanding warrant in Elkhart County.

12/27/2015 at 4:09 p.m.: South Bend Police officers were sent to the 300 block of S. McPherson St. regarding a stabbing. As the officers were responding to the area, they were told that the 25-year-old victim had arrived at Memorial Hospital. The victim is currently listed in stable condition after sustaining a serious leg injury. Abel Miramontes, 24, was arrested on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery on Tuesday and was formally charged by the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
