Man in St. Joseph County found guilty of molesting relative

It took a jury in St. Joseph County Superior Court less than 20 minutes to find James Kaylor guilty of multiple counts of child molestation this past week.

The victim told the jury that she had been molested over the course of several years, starting when she was in kindergarten and Kaylor would pick her up after school and watch her until her parents got home from work.

When she was in 8th grade, the victim said she disclosed the abuse because Kaylor was going to start picking up another relative at school, and the victim feared Kaylor would molest the family member, as well.

Kaylor faces a maximum possible penalty of 66 years imprisonment if the sentences are run consecutively.

His sentencing is scheduled to take place on Monday, Feb. 29.
