AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The Latest on a Texas grand jury indicting two anti-abortion activists who covertly recorded videos of Planned Parenthood clinics (all times local):

An anti-abortion activist indicted in Texas over covertly recorded video from inside a Planned Parenthood clinic says his group uses the same undercover techniques as journalists and follows the law.

Center for Medical Progress founder David Daleiden said Monday that his nonprofit respects the court system in Houston. That’s where a grand jury indicted him and another anti-abortion activist for video secretly filmed last year that targeted the handling of fetal tissue in Planned Parenthood clinics.

The grand jury that indicted Daleiden cleared Parent Parenthood of any wrongdoing.

Daleiden faces a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record and a misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs. Prosecutors didn’t provide any further details. Responding to the charges, Daleiden says that “buying fetal tissue requires a seller as well.”

A grand jury investigating Planned Parenthood has indicted two anti-abortion activists who covertly shot videos of the organization.

Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson announced Monday that Center for Medical Progress founder David Daleiden was indicted on a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record and a misdemeanor count of related to purchasing human organs. Another activist was also indicted on a charge of tampering with a governmental record.

A news release announcing the indictment doesn’t say what the record was.

Anderson said the grand jury cleared Planned Parenthood of any wrongdoing.

The Center for Medical Progress is the anti-abortion group that released covertly shot videos of Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of aborted fetuses for research.

A phone message left with the group wasn’t immediately returned.
