Man facing charges after boat crashes into riverbank

A man is facing charges after a boating crash on the St. Joseph River in Elkhart County.
Sheriff’s deputies say a 56-year-old Elkhart man was operating a speedboat Sunday evening when it crashed into the shoreline near County Road 16.
Investigators say the driver was intoxicated and has been cited for operating a motorboat while intoxicated.
He suffered facial cuts and a broken pelvis and was taken to the hospital.
Two passengers suffered minor injuries, while a fourth person was not hurt.
