Man found dead in wooded area near Linden Avenue and Wellington Street in South Bend on Saturday

The body of a man was found in a wooded area on South Bend’s west side.

South  Bend Police were called to the area near Linden Avenue and Wellington Street around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 30.

A man was walking his dog when the dog discovered the body, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The body is described as a white male in his 30’s to 40’s. The man may have been dead for 3 to 6 weeks, according to the St. Joseph County Coroner, as reported by ABC 57.

An autopsy could take place on Monday.
