Kelly Todd sworn in as new assistant commander of St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit

The St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit has a new assistant commander.

Kelly Todd was sworn in Monday morning, March 7.

The 16-year police veteran has worked with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department and the University of Notre Dame Security Police Department. She was the commander of the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department SVU and has extensive experience investigating sexual assaults, domestic violence and crimes against children.

Kelly replaces Robert E. Finn, who retired after 13 years as assistant commander of SVU and 30 years with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
