Michigan Senate passes bill to ask drivers about organ donation

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The Senate has approved a bill that would require employees at the Secretary of State to ask driver’s license applicants if they want to be organ donors at death.

Secretary of State spokesman Fred Woodhams says seeking organ donors has been a common practice since 2011. He says the bill would put it into law.

The Senate passed the bill Thursday, 36-0.
