Notre Dame student found dead in off-campus home Wednesday

The Notre Dame community is mourning after a student was found dead in her off-campus home on Wednesday, March 9.

Theresa Sagartz, 21, was a junior from Alburquerque, N.M., according to an email from the Rev. John I. Jenkins, university president. She was a third-generation Notre Dame student.

“As a community, we grieve for Theresa and extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends,” Jenkins wrote in the email. “My prayers are with them.”

A Mass in Sagartz’s memory will take place once Notre Dame students return to campus from spring break. University counseling services are available to any student or faculty who wishes to speak with someone.
