Two buildings on IU South Bend’s campus will undergo major renovations after the Indiana State Budget Committee approved $7 million for the project during its meeting Tuesday, March 15.

The first floor of the Administration Building will be renovated to improve how functional the admissions and financial aid offices are for students, while Riverside Hall will be remodeled into a health and wellness center, according to State Rep. Pat Bauer (D-South Bend).

Clinical lab sciences, radiology, a medical support pharmacy, classrooms and office space will also be housed in Riverside Hall. Both buildings will receive electrical, mechanic and plumbing updates as well.

“Both projects are critical to IUSB,” Bauer said in a statement. “The transformation of Riverside Hall and the improvements in the Administration Building are necessary to meet the growing needs of IUSB.”
