North Judson man dies after he was hit by semi while walking on Indiana highway

A North Judson man was killed Wednesday night, March 16, when he was hit by a semi while walking along a highway in northwest Indiana.

Nicholas Ryan Webb, 35, was pronounced dead of the scene, according to the Indiana State Police. The coroner determined his cause of death to be massive blunt force trauma.

Webb was hit by a semi driven by a 42-year-old Hammond man near the 15.3 mile marker of I-80/94 in Lake County at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Police are still investigating why Webb was walking along the road or where he was going. Officers didn’t find a disabled vehicle nearby.
