Michigander Bicycle Tour marks 25th year with multi-day summer rides

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The 25th annual Michigander Bicycle Tour is planned this summer in western Michigan.

The tour offers 2-day, 6-day and 8-day options and includes breakfast and dinner daily, camping and ride support.

The 2-day ride July 16-17 is based in Fruitport. It includes a ride to the USS Silversides Submarine Museum in Muskegon and routes are up to 30 or 35 miles per day.

The 6-day ride takes place July 18-23 and will average 50 miles per day on mostly paved trails and backroads. It includes stops in Hart, Newaygo, the Grand Rapids area and Holland. The 8-day ride takes place July 16-23 and includes the shorter rides.

The Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance, the Michigan Fitness Foundation and Grand Rapids-based retailer Meijer are involved in the event.
