Mike Pence dedicates new VA clinic at Camp Atterbury in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has dedicated a new medical clinic that will serve veterans.

The Wakeman VA Clinic at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh will offer primary medical care in additional to physical therapy and mental health assessments.

The Republican governor was joined by members of the Indiana National Guard for the dedication ceremony this week.

Officials hope the new clinic will decrease the amount of travel some veterans faced to get medical care. Pence’s office said many veterans had to travel to Indianapolis, Bloomington, Louisville, Kentucky, or Cincinnati, Ohio for care.
