Roof on Mishawaka county building partially collapses during Thursday storms

MISHAWAKA, Ind. (AP) — Fire officials say a roof on a government services building in northern Indiana partially collapsed as high winds and rain swept through the area.

Mishawaka fire officials say the roof collapse occurred Thursday afternoon at the St. Joseph County Services Building, causing extensive water damage on the top floor.

Superior Court Chief Judge Jenny Pitts-Manier tells The South Bend Tribune the damage occurred in the reception area of her chambers and an extensive amount of water flowed through the offices there.

County crews at the scene were trying to line up equipment to begin cleaning up the water damage.

No one was hurt.
