Indiana State Police trooper, horse and buggy crash near Middlebury late Sunday night

An Indiana State Police trooper and a Middlebury man were injured when the trooper’s police car and a horse and buggy collided near Middlebury late Sunday night, April 17.

The buggy, which didn’t have working lights on it, pulled in front of the trooper at S.R. 13 and C.R. 20 just before 10:45 p.m., according to Indiana State Police.

The 20-year-old man driving the buggy was treated at IU Health Goshen Hospital for foot, hip and back injuries. The trooper, 39-year-old Peter Bradley, was treated at the same hospital for arm injuries.

The horse ran away after the crash but later was found at the Middlebury man’s home.
