NASHVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Twenty-five to 30 test jurors will be questioned to determine whether an impartial jury can be selected for the trial of a Bloomington man accused of killing an Indiana University student.

Fifty-year-old Daniel Messel says publicity over evidence linking him to the crime and related reports make it impossible for him to receive a fair trial in Brown County. He’s charged with murder in the April 2015 beating death of 22-year-old Hannah Wilson of Fishers. Her body was found about 10 miles northwest of IU’s Bloomington campus.

Brown Circuit Judge Judith Stewart and lawyers agreed Monday to question each test juror individually June 1 rather than in a group.

The (Bloomington) Herald-Times reports the actual trial is due to begin Aug. 1 following two days of jury selection.
