Mishawaka residents hungry for hand-dipped milkshakes and shoestring french fries no longer have to drive to South Bend or Elkhart to satisfy their cravings.

The Steak ’N Shake at 5415 Grape Road celebrated its grand reopening at 9 a.m. Monday, May 23, more than five months after it closed because of a fire that started in a deep fryer in December.

Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood was on hand for the reopening. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day.
