Elkhart motorcyclist dies after Sunday evening crash on Nappanee Street

A motorcyclist involved in a crash in Elkhart over the weekend died on Monday, May 23.

The 46-year-old man was hospitalized at South Bend Memorial Hospital following the crash at Nappanee Street and Beardsley Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sgt. Chris Snyder with the Elkhart Police Department said.

The man was on life support while organ donations arrangement were made, Snyder said.

He was riding his motorcycle north on Nappanee Street when a passenger car traveling south on Nappanee Street turned left onto Beardsley Avenue. The two vehicles collided.

Nobody in the car was hurt.
