Governor: Capitol flags ordered lowered on Memorial Day

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has called for all flags to be lowered in the state Capitol complex in observance of Memorial Day.

The Republican governor’s office says in a release the flags will fly at half-staff on Monday in accordance with an executive order. It adds that homes, businesses, schools and local government offices are encouraged to do so as well.

The flags are displayed at half-staff until noon and full-staff from noon until sunset.
