17-year-old boy arrested after voyeurism reported in Michigan City neighborhood

A 17-year-old boy accused of peeking into homes in a Michigan City neighborhood was arrested early Tuesday morning, May 31.

Officers were called to a home on Fox Hollow Drive in Michigan City’s Weatherstone Village neighborhood at about 11:30 p.m. Monday after a resident said a suspicious person was walking around and looking into windows, the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office said. The resident had security camera footage of the suspect.

About an hour and a half later, another resident called to report that their 17-year-old son hadn’t returned home.

When officers met with the boy, they realized he matched the description of a suspect in the voyeurism case, the sheriff’s office said.

The 17-year-old was arrested on preliminary charges of voyeurism, trespassing and a curfew violation and booked into LaPorte County’s Juvenile Services Center.

Several voyeurism incidents were reported in the Weatherstone Village in the last year, but it’s not clear if the 17-year-old boy is a suspect in all of them.
