SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Indiana Landmarks wants to sell one South Bend building to help renovate another.
The South Bend Tribune reports the preservation agency wants to sell the Remedy Building that has housed its offices since 2002 to pay for work at the Kizer mansion.
The Remedy Building was built in 1895 by Albert H. Kelley. It was an office and laboratory for his patent medicine firm, the South Bend Remedy Co. The building has been moved twice.
The Kizer mansion was built around 1888 by businessman William Kizer and his family. After it is renovated, Indiana Landmarks expects to use part of the mansion for its offices and lease other space to businesses or nonprofits.
Renovation work is already underway on the Kizer mansion.
