Vice President Mike Pence?

Indiana’s 50th governor is a possible contender to be named Donald Trump‘s running mate at the GOP convention in July, NBC News reported.

An intermediary told Pence several weeks ago that he was on the short list. Pence insisted in a news conference Thursday that he and Trump have never spoken about the vice presidential spot.

Pence endorsed Ted Cruz ahead of Indiana’s primary, but said at the time that Trump has “given voice to the frustration of millions of working Americans with the lack of progress in Washington, D.C.”

Pence is running for re-election this November against Democratic challenger John Gregg. Pence narrowly defeated Gregg in 2012.
