A Highland, Indiana man was killed after colliding into an Indiana State Police car.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 1, occurred along the Indiana Toll Road just west of the Portage toll plaza.
The motorcycle, driven by Michael M. Damore, 28, was traveling westbound on Interstate 90 near the 23 mile marker, west of the Portage Toll Plaza, when he struck the passenger side of an Indiana State Police patrol car, according to an Indiana State Police news release.
The trooper was in the process of making a u-turn when Damore struck the passenger side of his patrol car, the news release stated.
Damore was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The trooper began giving chest compressions to Damore and continued until Portage EMS arrived to take him to Portage Community Hospital. Damore died of his injuries after being transported from the scene, the news release stated.
The westbound lanes of the toll road were closed for nearly six hours for the crash investigation.
Initial investigation indicates that Damore’s driver’s license was suspended, according to the news release.
Additionally, the motorcycle was not registered, the news release stated.

Did the officer not see the motorcycle in making the u turn? Did he pull into the motorcyclist path?
Obviously, but that won’t matter because the biker’s papers weren’t in perfect order, so he’ll be blamed post-mortem for everything.
