Elkhart man, 45, killed after motorcycle/vehicle crash on U.S. 20

An Elkhart man was killed after the motorcycle he was on smashed into the back of a vehicle.

The collision happened around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, on U.S. 20 east of County Road 115.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies say 45-year-old Jason Salyers was traveling eastbound and struck the back of a Suburu driven by a 36-year-old Elkhart woman.

Salyers was thrown from his Kawasaki ZX1, causing life-threatening injuries. He died at the scene.

The driver of the Suburu was not injured.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating factors that led to the crash.
