A 50-year-old Elkhart woman is hospitalized in critical condition after her motorcycle collided with three vehicles in Berrien County, Mich., at about 5 p.m. Sunday, July 10.

The woman was riding her motorcycle west on U.S. 12 when the vehicle crossed the center line, side-swiped a station wagon and an SUV and then collided head-on with another SUV, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.

She was thrown from the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. An ambulance rushed her to Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

The drivers of the other three vehicles were not injured. Police are investigating the crash, but don’t believe alcohol was a factor.
