=INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Gov. Mike Pence’s office confirms that the appearance of greater security that people who live around the governor’s mansion have been reporting is real.

A spokesperson for the governor tells WISH-TV that security has been beefed up since Pence became Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s running mate.

Michael Naghdi lives just across the street from the mansion. He says Secret Service agents stopped by his family’s home a few days ago. They told him to expect to see more law enforcement patrols in the area.

Workers also have moved concrete barriers into place near the mansion.
