The 10 p.m. newscast on Friday, July 29, marked the final broadcast, together, for Fox 28 news anchors Tom Powell, Faran Fronczak, Meteorologist Courtney Jorgensen and Sports Director Dean Huppert.

The newsteam wished their viewers well and thanked them for their loyal viewship in an emotional sign-off.

The Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns WSBT Television, entered into an agreement with WSJV-TV owner Quincy Media to take over WSJV’s current Fox affiliation and programming.

The change will take place on Monday, August 1.

Read more about the changes from The South Bend Tribune and WSBT-TV.

Awwwwww. Since we cut cable TV I don’t watch every day anymore. Get my news on line. But John Fischers weather was the most accurate around. I can’t seem to find it and then found this. How sad. No wonder every link to his weather comes up with an error. If anyone sees this, can you post a reply and say if John is still doing weather in this area at all? Or did he move on?
