A man was arrested on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he crashed into a home on State Road 933.

St. Joseph County Police officers were called to the home on Tuesday, July 26, where they found the suspect, Eddie Joe Corum, sitting in the front yard of the home, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

It’s believed the driver drove into the home intentionally, ABC 57 reported.

Corum began yelling to officers that someone had beaten him up and stole money from him.

While police were placing Corum in handcuffs, offices smelled the odor of natural gas coming from the home, ABC 57 reported.

NISPCO crews were called to shut off the gas, ABC 57 reported.
