One person shot on Middlebury Street in Elkhart

An 18-year-old man was shot in the area of Madison and Middlebury Streets, east of downtown Ellkhart.

Police were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Traffic was shut down in the area of the 300 block of Middlebury near River Run Apartments while Elkhart Police investigated the shooting, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The victim was found laying in the middle of the street with multiple gunshot wounds, according to  Elkhart Police Sgt. Chris Snyder, as reported by The Elkhart Truth.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, The Elkhart Truth reported.

There was no word about any possible suspects or arrests.
