(Tom Franklin/95.3 MNC)

He’s lucky to be alive, but the lawn care worker who police say was struck by an Enterprise car rental worker behind the wheel of a vehicle is still in the hospital.

The victim is listed in critical, but stable condition at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, according to our reporting partners at ABC 57.

On Friday, Sep. 2, police say the vehicle struck the man in the Enterprise parking lot before continuing in reverse and crashing into the India Garden restaurant on Edison Road west of Hickory Road.

Bishop suffered several broken ribs, collapsed lungs, and other fractures and still faces one major surgery.

His family tells ABC 57 they have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the community.
